The Hangover

So last night was the last night I am ever drinking in my life. What a cliche, but yes I was drunk last night, and now feeling the effects pretty heavily.
It's been a while since I have been out and about in the clubbing scene, and for various reasons, now it seems a good time to go see what it has to offer, and also being in Holland, where the Dutch are crazier than ever (in a good way) makes the experience even more interesting.

One thing I noticed about the clubs here, and also in a lot of european clubs, is the entrances. You would never know that there were any clubs anywhere is Groningen, as the concept of putting a sign up so people know at least what it's called, seems to have slipped their minds! It's great though, because you are always surprised when the place turns out to be a real hit, it's like discovering so many hidden treasures.

To change the topic slightly, this blog is really just for talking about my student life in Groningen, but I guess sometimes it's good to talk about things slightly more personal. I couldn't leave without mentioning the fact that I have recently been through a break up, I don't want to go into detail, as the wounds are still sore, and for anyone who has been through a break up, after a long relationship you will know what I'm talking about. What makes it harder is me being in Holland, but actually that's arguable as it really does give us the space we need alone. Anyway it's horrible, and it's painful, and sometimes it's nice to just be able to talk to someone....(my blog is a person...ok, that's weird) who isn't going to judge me or answer back, or even try and support me, because it's the being a lone part that is the hardest, and getting used to this is really quite strange.

So that sort of ties in with the reason for my sudden interest in clubbing, as it's nice just to get out and not have to think about anything for just a few hours.
